The Senior
I loved every second of this senior portrait session with Savanna. I've worked with her family and her a few times in the past, but this was our first session focused on just her. This girl is going places, FOR SURE. She's kinda, ambitious, service oriented, and has the most positive attitude ever. She's taking advantage of senior year by serving as a SBO and from what we chatted about, she loves it! She has lots of great plans for after graduation and is so open to what the world has to offer her. I absolutely love everything about this girl and her attitude and zeal for life! Also, what's not to love about literally taking some flash back photos of girls in Dr. Martens?! That's one style I'm glad has come back around. I loved my middle school/high school "docs" days!
The Support
Savana's mom, Laura, came along on the shoot with us. I love senior portrait days, especially when mom's come along. I've said it a million times - I LOVE doing senior sessions in the fall of my clients' senior year. Instead of just making it a "check list item" in April and May to "get done" before graduation, we can really focus on making this a PART of senior year. It's a great night to focus on your senior and really enjoy the evening dressing up and having fun in front of the camera. I watched this mom and daughter duo and couldn't help but feel drawn to them. Their relationship is so close. It's almost as if Laura has done all she can to raise this beautiful daughter, and now they get to start on new relationship of being best friends as Savana grows into her own independent person. I look at duos like this and hope my efforts in raising my own daughters some day looks like this mom and daughter!
I hope I get to continue working with this entire family. They are such great people and so fun to get in front of the camera! Congratulations on your upcoming graduation this spring Savana!! Can't wait to watch you thrive in the next part of your life!
