Lindy + Cam + Family || Antelope Island Family Photographer
This session has me all heart eyes and I can't stop thinking about it!! When I met up with Lindy and her fam at the Antelope Island gate, it was pretty evident we were in for a REALLY windy night. But since everyone was already ready for their pictures, we decided to still shoot and schedule another night if the pictures didn't work out due to the wind. And let me tell ya, it was rough!! It was super hard trying to get the typical "family looking at the camera" shot because the wind kept blowing hair everywhere, but it really helped out with all the candid shots we did for the session. And I'm in love. Wind just adds a natural element to pictures that is hard to capture without it. I guess that's why they put giant fans on models for photoshoots. I love what it did for these pictures. The series of pics of Lindy and her littlest guy, Cal, may be my favorite mother/son captures I've ever done. And the black and white shot of sweet little Kinley on the beach - I'm obsessed. So even though we weren't able to get a ton of "perfect" family ones (ya know, the one for the Christmas cards where everyone's hair isn't standing straight up in the wind), I'm in love with the ones we did get of the family just being together on the beach. There's something so real and intimate about them and they capture what a family really is - maybe a little bit messy, but a lot of love!
