Holman Family || Bear Lake Family Reunion Photographer
Man, my summer was jam packed with family reunions in Bear Lake. And I loved it! I loved if for so many reasons. First, while a lot of photographers shy away from big group photos, I run towards them. I have a "system" down to my sessions now - a "method to the maddness" if you will. I have worked with enough 30+ people sessions now to know that it's gonna be crazy, there's gonna be a kid or five who would rather be at the beach, and a few different opinions on the best locations or outfit choices. But at the end of the day, I know what we create is truly a family memory - another part of the family reunion to look back on. It is SO HARD to get entire families together, especially entire very large families (something that is pretty normal here in Utah). So to take pictures and have something to look back on the time for is priceless.I also love them for a completely selfish reason, especially when the family reunions are in Bear Lake. Anyone who lives around here knows that we don't get cell service in Logan Canyon. So I'm forced to breathe for the 45 minute drive through the canyon. I usually have a window or four down and my best podcast or audible book playing. I'm by myself the whole way there and back, and usually have a raspberry oreo shake for the drive home. So not only am I enjoying the actual work I'm going to do, but I'm totally livin' my best life in the car! I come home recharged and relaxed - and it's perfect.Marae's family was perfect for their session. Marae has a beautiful summer home in Bear Lake, and it made of the perfect backdrop for an easy morning session. It got a little bright, but we made it work and made some memories! And they even sent me home with some breakfast so I didn't even have to stop for my shake on the way home from this one ;)
