High School & Competitive Team Sports Photographer in Davis and Salt Lake County | Farmington Girls Golf at Oakridge Country Club
If there’s one thing I’ve learned photographing athletes, it’s this—team photos should feel like more than a school yearbook page. For high school teams, competitive clubs, and travel teams across Davis County, Salt Lake County, and beyond, I approach every session with one goal: capture the people, not just the uniform.
I recently had the chance to photograph the Farmington High School Girls Golf Team at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah, and this session checked every box. These girls showed up with confidence, grit, and personality—and it all came through in the final images.
We shot at golden hour on the golf course, using the scenery to bring in both color and context. The location matters. I’m a big believer in photographing athletes in the places where they actually compete. It adds authenticity and tells a more complete story of their season.
Whether I’m working with high school football players, comp-level soccer teams, gymnastics teams, or travel baseball teams (and every other sport!), my goal is to create photos that reflect the pride these athletes have in what they do. That’s why I take time with each athlete individually—posing them in ways that feel natural, helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and making sure we capture real moments.
Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all sports photography. Parents want photos that feel personal. Coaches want to see their athletes represented well. And the athletes themselves? They want something they’ll actually want to post.
For high school seniors, team photos are often some of the last ones they’ll take before heading off to their next chapter. For younger athletes on comp or club teams, these pictures mark milestones and growth over the years. Either way, it’s a big deal.
