Capturing Sunset at Four Seasons Oahu: A Last-Minute Session Worth Every Second
Some shoots are planned out for weeks. Others happen in the last ten minutes of sunset, and somehow, those might be my favorite.
While in Oahu for a work trip, I got to sneak in a quick session with Domonique and Jordan at the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko’ Olina—and I’m so glad we made it happen. The light was fading fast, but that golden glow? Absolutely perfect. There’s something about those last few minutes of daylight that makes everything feel softer, cozier, and more effortless.
This trip wasn’t just about work for me. It was a reset. Getting away, stepping back, and being in a place that’s so different from my daily routine gave me the space to feel creative again. Sometimes, when you’re always producing, always in motion, that spark starts to dull. Being in Hawaii, slowing down, and having my camera in hand without a packed schedule? That was exactly what I needed.
Domonique and Jordan were the perfect reminder of why I love what I do. The way they fell into each other so naturally, the way they laughed between shots, the way the setting sun caught every little detail—it felt effortless. No forced poses, no overthinking. Just two people, completely at ease, soaking up the moment.
This session was proof that sometimes, all it takes is ten minutes at sunset to create something beautiful.
