Camille + Cody || Tony Grove Wedding Formals

I have a wedding in southern Utah this week, so I decided to head to St. George a little early and take some time for myself. I've really felt like I need time to rejuvenate and set some intentions for this next year. Watching the thermometer in the car slowly creep up the closer we got to our destination had me all sorts of happy since it has started into the bitter coldness of northern Utah recently. There's something about being in a different place, having different scenery, being a tad bit more warm than usual, and purposefully creating an itinerary that invites peace that really helps me focus and re center myself.

Looking through my sessions this last year always, especially the ones with the warm Utah golden light, helps me remember how much I really do love my job. Camille and Cody's formal session was one of my last sessions at Tony Grove this year. This place will always be magical to me, and shooting couples and focusing on their connection with one another seems ethereal at this place. It just fits. One of the most beautiful places I've been mixed with the happiness of new love - it's a perfect marriage for photos.

My favorite part of this session was the last ten minutes. Camille knew that we had taken lots of the wide shots to capture the scenery and the couple. But she wanted something a little more intimate. YES, PLEASE!! I love close ups of couples. I love soft touches and closed eyes. I love capturing the vulnerability and closeness of couples. I really think we were able to get that for this couple, and I love have beautiful it is.

My other favorite part of the session - definitely when Camille started crying just looking through the images on the back of my camera. Nothing feels better than a client loving their images. Really. That's why I do what I do - serving my clients well is my goal. I love that I could do that and actually see that with these two. It was a great session, and I loved going back through these images and reliving it.
