If you want to see hilarity, look no further than my son's school pics this year. Guys, I die. My son got his school pictures back today and they are H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S.!! His face looks like he's terrified. One of his sleeves is rolled up...and the other isn't.... a hair out of place.... but his eyes. Oh my gosh, poor kid. But that's exactly why I buy school photos - because of how funny they are. (We have had one good year where it was actually pretty cute, so we're 1 for 4).Who else looks back at their school photos with embarrassment and entertainment at the same time? I decided to wear my glasses one year (even though I rarely wore them in real life.) Giant glasses, and not in the cute way, coupled with bangs that ALWAYS separated in the middle..... wowza. That is one to remember! And then there's the kindergarten one where my mom put me in my flower girl dress from a friend's wedding. And it's all cute, but it's up against that lame, blue backdrop. Who else had a mom who wouldn't spring the extra $4 for the all coveted different colored backdrops?!?! Oh man, I laugh just writing this and remembering all the fun of school picture day. But at least you got a tiny comb out of it, right? So, while I think school pictures are great for memory sake, I love doing little sessions like these to commemorate another year of school. Anna's family didn't need family pictures this year, but her mama wanted some of just Anna as a big 1st grader! We literally took about 5 minutes (I should start calling these "micro sessions") and got so many cute shots. We love Anna over here, even though there may be a little competition between my two boys for her heart. It's the topic of some of the funniest conversations in my household. We went around Anna's yard for these pictures, and when it's as beautiful as hers, it's the perfect backdrop!
