{Adam + Ashley} Omaha, Nebraska Wedding Photographer
I really enjoyed shooting Adam and Ashley's wedding yesterday. It was not only my first wedding of the season, but it's the first wedding I've done without a pregnant belly for quite some time. I forgot how much easier it is to shoot a wedding without that! Yesterday was a beautiful March day. I was stoked to shoot wedding portraits on Adam's farm, but due to INTENSE wind, we had to do almost all the portraits inside. Quite a bummer, but I really LOVE the portraits we were able to get outside, wind and all. The shop was a perfect location too - really true to Adam and Ashley.
Adam is a farmer, and I thought I knew what that meant since my husband grew up on a farm. It wasn't until I heard the way people talked about Adam and his family, and how amazing and supportive Ashley is about Adam's career, that I really started to understand what being a farmer really is. Everyone says that farming is a "way of life," but I don't think it really sinks in. But yesterday, I got a glimpse of how hard it is. It really has given me a new perspective of what my husband grew up doing. It helps me understand my mother-in-law a little better. And it makes me realize that there are things that farm kids get to experience and learn that no other kids can. I always joked with my husband that I would marry him, but he had to promise he never wanted to farm again. I still stick by that - there's no way I could do it. These are truly some of the hardest working people! But I see a little more now after working with Adam and Ashley and their families yesterday why farming is a way of life. And why it's something that my husband is happy remembering. I hope I can give my kids a little bit of that lifestyle. Teach them hard work, but also allow them to explore and get their hands dirty.
Congrats Adam and Ashley! You are a truly amazing couple. I'm so impressed by what you do and who you are. I really enjoyed working with you!
