Matt + Becky + Clark || Why Hiring the Same Photographer Helps Your Session Go Great || Omaha, Nebraska Family Photographer
I love going back to Omaha and catching up with my clients from back there! I head back usually once a year and it really ends up being such a fun and rejuvenating time. I get to shoot in new places and get more creative that way, but I also get two flights and two nights in a hotel alone. Hello! Such a nice refresher for any mom boss!
The Cromers are one of my favorite families. I always do their pictures when I'm back, and it's so fun to see how much Clark has grown and change. My first session with this family was Becky's maternity session, so it's definitely fun to see the family evolve! I also love hearing Matt's southern accent too, and it was especially cute to hear Clark say a few words with a little accent as well. I love this family!
One thing I really noticed this year is how comfortable Clark was with me. He listened well to directions, had genuine smiles, and wasn't nervous about having his picture taken. I see this a lot with families that I work with yearly (or more). Having pictures taken is always a nerve wracking experience. One way to alleviate the nerves is to know what to expect during your session. Every photographer works different. We direct different. We engage different. We have a flow to the session that is unique to us. So working with the same photographer for your yearly photos helps kids (and you!) to know what to expect during the session. Kids I work with often generally are more at ease during their session. They know that there will be a time during the session for fun shots (running towards the camera), silly shots, and standing/sitting shots. They know that I work fast and they won't have to stand in the same place for too long. And they know that it will be a positive environment. Kids all thrive in consistency, and having a consistent photographer is definitely part of that!
