When I met Natalie at a wedding, she asked if I ever did pet photography. I immediately shared with her the cake smash session I did with Emma and Ellie , and Natalie started thinking of doing a session with her pups. Enter this session. And it's what we're going to call a "newborn" puppy session!These humans welcomed their newest family member, Kevin, a bit ago. They wanted to commemorate the new pup with some "newborn pictures," big bow and all. I die. It was so funny, but also very cute because these puppies really are family members to their humans.Working with dogs is always a fun challenge. They really are a lot like toddlers - there is no reasoning with them. They respond with excitement to treats, but don't understand that they are supposed to be bribery. And they do whatever they feel like doing at any given moment during the session. So needless to say, I feel pretty experienced working with dogs after doing hundreds of sessions with toddlers!These two dogs were no different. When one would get positioned the right way, the other would move. When one earned a treat, the other wanted one. It was pretty funny. They were really fun to work with though because their humans were having fun and looking for pictures to show that. It is hard to get dogs to cooperate for more than a few shots, so candids really end up being the golden images for the shoot. I love how these ones turned out! And I think we did great at capturing this family with their own lil newborn ;)
