Justine + Tim + 8 || Layton, Utah Family Photographer

Justine is definitely a woman I was meant to meet. We met when I was a parent on my son's field trip last year. Justine was Tim's music teacher, and we clicked right away. We've both gone through divorces. And that's pretty much all that needed to be said before chatting over bagged lunches. We both have younger kids, so we are in pretty similar situations. It's funny how words like "decree" and "court" were never in my vocabulary two years ago. Now they're in my daily conversations. So while it sucks that that's part of life, it's always a little extra strength and comfort when I get to be friends with someone in the same world.

Justine told me about Tim at our initial meet, and it wasn't too long after that I got the news that they were engaged! They planned a really simple wedding, and wanted to do a family session out at Antelope Island that evening to celebrate their new blended family. EIGHT KIDS!! Wow!! I come from a blended family of nine kids, but I'm still amazed at the strength of parents who take on the challenge of large families. It's probably mostly because I know how hard it is. These two are rock stars.

We had a beautiful evening out at Antelope Island. The kids were super sweet and so easy to photograph. Justine and Tim changed outfits a few times so we could capture them on their special day and even do some more "engagement" type pics for them, too. I'm so glad I got to meet everyone and work with this great family for the evening!
