How To Prepare for Your Boudoir Session || Northern Utah Boudoir Photographer
I am so excited that you're thinking about or have already scheduled your boudoir session! My number one goal is for you to walk away from your session feeling empowered and beautiful. Being prepared for your session will help us achieve that goal! Here are my go to tips to rock your boudoir session.
- Beauty - Do what makes you comfortable and confident! Get your nails done, a spray tan, or anything else that adds a little extra flair to your shoot!
- Outfits - I suggest bringing 2-4 looks for your session. We start with more clothes on so you can feel comfortable in front of the camera. I love to start the session with you wearing one of his button up shirts with a pair of bootie shorts (or your own shirt if you're doing this all for YOU!). Cute bra and underwear sets are always pretty. I love the look of one pieces, so those look great too! A robe or oversize cardigan that matches a lot of your outfits is a great accessory to change up looks. Stockings and shoes are not necessary, but also add to your overall look. If you feel sexy in some cute matching PJs, bring that! Sheer/mesh pieces photograph really well, too! Here's a link to my Pinterest inspiration board to get some ideas! - Brides - If this is a bridal boudoir session, I definitely suggest bringing the outfit you're planning on wearing on your wedding day. Bring your veil and a bouquet of flowers too to really capture that bridal look!
- Hair and Makeup - If you're going to feel more confident for your shoot, or you just want an excuse to pamper yourself, hiring a professional hair and makeup artist is the way to go! Confidence is the best accessory to any photoshoot, and feeling beautiful definitely helps achieve that. Reach out to me for recommendations for a great artist in your area. I have lots of go to girls! If you're doing your own makeup, add a little more than usual so it shows up more boldly in the photos. We can also change up your hair during your session to give you a little variety!
The day of your session, make sure to drink plenty of water and bring a bottle with you, too! You can also bring some makeup for touch ups during your session, a fuzzy blanket that matches your outfits, and your favorite playlist to help you feel chill!
Reach out to me with any other questions you may have! If you haven't scheduled your session yet, I hope this post helps you feel confident in being prepared to do so! I say it all the time - boudoir sessions are so empowering and I love being a part of helping women feel that!
