Behind the Lens - A Bit About Me
Hi! I’m Dani. I’m a girl grasping and leaping towards my potential and learning from mistakes and triumphs along the way. I’ve been married to my best friend for over 11 years, and we’ve created three beautiful, messy, loud, maddening, and joys of my life children. I’m also slightly addicted to Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip Ice-cream. Just try it - you’re welcome.
I’m an Ohio girl - born and raised in little town Madison right on Lake Erie. I loved my childhood. Like it was the best childhood ever and I hope to recreate something similar for my kids. Gymnastics was my passion until I started getting too scared from the big tricks, so I switched over to pretty much every sport imaginable. Then cancer hit our family, and hit it hard. I lost my dad shortly after my 14th birthday to brain cancer, but not before he gave me my last gift - my first SLR camera.
I moved to Utah shortly after his death where I’ve lived ever since (except for a short stint in China teaching English and a few years in Omaha for my husband’s grad school). I’m the second of NINE kids - so I pretty much have seen it ALL! And guys, I’ve got SIX sisters. That’s so many sisters, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m truly blessed.
Because of my life experiences of love and loss, I find complete happiness in my job as a photographer. Capturing big milestones and small moments in the lives of children and families is where my passion lies. I’ve been growing in the photography business for over 10 years, and have worked with hundreds of families and couples. My experience through this time has given me the tools to create beautiful art through artistic editing and authentic captures. Because I’ve worked with so many children, I’m able to anticipate and help create and capture big giggles or soft smiles that last only a moment. I create a positive and comfortable environment for your shoot and then capture the magic of your life!
