This session is the perfect example of not being afraid to get family pictures with young kids! I hear a lot from mamas that they are worried about doing pictures because they don't think any will "turn out." And let me tell ya, sometimes we have to work for it. But I love how family pictures with young kids come out! Maybe the smiles aren't "perfect." Maybe the baby is running around. Maybe mom and dad want to pull their hair out at some point during the session (I do during our family pictures anyway....). But in the end, there are ALWAYS little moments captured to be remembered forever and it's all worth it.
Angie's family was so cute. The kids were close and truly love each other. I love the little interactions we were able to capture. And the individuals of each kid show their little personalities.
One of my favorite parts of family sessions like this happens at the end when we let the kids go play so we can get pictures of mom and dad. As a mom to two young kids, I know I don't spend enough (read: hardly any) time looking into my husband's eyes and sharing a little bit of time with him. I've noticed some patterns in couples. When I do engagement and wedding photos, couples are happy to be REALLY close. Like nose to nose close. But then the kids come. And suddenly we have so much less comfort being physically close to our spouses. But then something so cute happens. And I see this at weddings or at large family pictures. When I take pictures of grandmas and grandpas, they are many times very affectionate. They sneak kisses, and they are always holding hands. The point of this is that I love the photos of moms and dads like the ones in this post. Just taking a second to reconnect, even if it's in front of a camera, is such a special moment. And I'm glad I get to capture it. Just check out these two and how adorable they are together! This was just a great session.
