Bringhurst Family || Logan, Temple Family Photos
This family's session had me walking away feeling all sorts of humbled and grateful that I get to do this job! Kristen called me last week to see if I had any openings for her family to get some their pictures taken. They live in Wyoming, but wanted their pictures at the Logan Temple. We decided on a mini session and I found a half our window the other night to squeeze them in. I'm so glad it worked out!
Kristen told me that this was their "forever" family portrait. You know, the one that doesn't include any in-laws or gandbabies so it will never go out of date. (Believe me, you all want one of these!) I rarely feel pressure going into a shoot anymore. I am confident with my abilities and my work and am always excited to see what comes of each shoot. But I was a little nervous for this one! Not only is this the picture that will most likely hang in their home forever, but Kristen let me know that their oldest son has Autism. Knowing that the spectrum is so varied, I still wasn't sure how I was going to help Davis during this shoot so the pictures would come out as Kristen hoped. We even talked about swapping heads if needed, which is something I don't usually offer. We were going to get Kristen the picture she wanted!
When it came time for the shoot, we all met up and got going. After asking Kristen and Stew if there was anything I could do to help Davis look towards me, the suggestion to sing the Barney song came my way. So here we all were on the temple grounds with my taking pictures while singing "I Love You." And it was perfect. Davis not only looked at me, he smiled. Pretty much the WHOLE shoot. He was happy and aware and did AMAZING! Just thinking about it gives me chills.
I think the temple was the perfect location for this family's shoot. But mostly for Davis. The spirit on the grounds was strong that night with this family. They all love their brother and son. And he loves them. They are an amazing family with an amazing resilience, spirit, and love. It truly was an honor to be with them there on holy ground and get a glimpse of what a beautiful, heavenly family they are!
