Baby Chase // Logan, Utah Newborn Lifestyle Photographer
Oh, baby Chase. I'm pretty sure this fighter is going to capture women's hearts everywhere! This little guy has had quite the amazing start to his early life. From starting off as a little miracle baby to just being happy even when things are rough, he's just such a sweetheart! I had the amazing opportunity to be there literally within minutes of Chase's birth to document his first few hours in the hospital with his mom and dad. He's now three months old, and still has a lot ahead of him. Next week he goes in for his first surgery to cosmetically fix his cleft lip. His momma asked me if I could come take some pictures of them around the house because she doesn't want to forget what he looks like before his surgery.Maria has taught me an amazing lesson in allowing me to be a part of Chase's story. When she messaged me about doing these pictures, she wrote in her message, "I'm going to miss his look so much. I am so sad to even have it fixed because it doesn't look broken to me anymore." And it seriously hit me hard. I'm going to get a little spiritual here which I don't do often since it is a business blog, but sometimes I KNOW that Heavenly Father uses my photography business to teach me what I need to learn. And I just want to share it with you! I thought a lot about what Maria said last night. And it gave me a whole new insight into the way our Father in Heaven looks at us as His children. We make so many mistakes and do lots of stupid things (I do anyway!). But our Father in Heaven has the complete ability to not see us for who we are, but for the potential he has given each of us. He doesn't dwell on our imperfections. He knows our potential. But for whatever reason, we like to dwell on all the negatives we see! It's easy to see the flaws in ourselves and others and not look at ourselves and others in a Heavenly perspective. We are ALL children of a VERY loving God. And when we complain about what we have or don't have, we are not seeing the beauty in us that God gave us. Maria's comment really just made me want to hug my dear sweet boys a little tighter more often and thank my Heavenly Father always for the most perfect little boys he sent to me to raise. We all have scars and imperfections, but we are all perfectly made in God's eyes. Like the Max Lucado book "You Are Special" teaches - God made us. And he DOESN'T make mistakes. Thank you, Maria, for being such an amazing woman and friend! And GOOD LUCK baby Chase on your surgery!
